As part of the preparation process we undertake with each participant on the Work the World programme, we discuss in detail the reality of the provision of healthcare in the communities with which we work. This recently sparked a larger debate within our team about the access to healthcare on a global scale.
In this infographic we have looked at the number of physicians by country on a per capita basis. We then cross referenced this with which of these countries have formally recognised the right to healthcare on constitutional level to see if there is a correlation.
Whilst this is an incredibly complex subject and certainly there are a large number of factors that influence the access to care, we hope this serves as a start to an extremely interesting conversation.
